01 / Why Udaan exists
A hungry child cannot study. A child without a notebook and pen cannot write.
Many children in villages go to school without enough notebooks, pens, or a proper place to sit and study. At home, there is often not enough food either. That is why education and nutrition must come together. Without one, the other stays incomplete.

Kit contents are a proposed list, subject to procurement, age-appropriate food checks, availability and item-wise cost verification. Supplementary foods are not a replacement for balanced meals.

Our grassroots work began in 2016 and the Indian nonprofit was established in 2020. We work across education, rural healthcare access and community development, with a focus on practical, accountable support.

Who receives the kits?
Children in need in rural villages, selected using an accountable local identification process. Specific locations and distribution quantities will be reported when confirmed.
How will I know the kit reached the child?
We will share distribution updates and, where parental/guardian consent permits, photographs or appropriate evidence. We protect children's identities and privacy.
Will I get a receipt?
Yes, the organisation can issue a donation acknowledgement after payment reconciliation. Eligible Indian donations may qualify for applicable Section 80G treatment subject to current rules and donor information.
Can I donate without choosing a kit?
Yes. You can donate any amount through the official Indian giving page. Funds will be used in line with the declared charitable purpose and any agreed restrictions.
Is ₹2,500 the final audited cost of every kit?
₹2,500 is the planned sponsorship amount for this campaign. Item quantities, procurement quotations, packing and distribution expenses are being finalised. We will document actual expenditure.
What if an item is unavailable?
Where necessary, we may replace an item with a comparable age-appropriate product while keeping the purpose and approved cost limits of the kit in mind.
Will the food items provide complete nutrition?
No. Packaged cereal and snack items are supplementary support, not a complete balanced meal. Final items should be checked for age appropriateness, allergies, safety and expiry.
Can my company or housing society sponsor a full group?
Yes. Contact us to discuss quantities, documentation, group sponsorship and potential CSR requirements before making a restricted contribution.
Can donors outside India contribute using this page?
This page routes to domestic INR giving. Foreign contributions must use the separately approved pathway and applicable FCRA/partner rules; please contact us before sending international funds.
When is the Diwali giving window?
The proposed five-day window is 4–9 November 2026. General charitable support may continue afterwards through our official website.
